The sixth and final installment of Desolation Angels is an Imperial Stout aged in select Buffalo Trace barrels for sixth months. For the final installment of the series, we decided to simplify, and release a version of Desolation Angels in its purest form, no adjuncts. This week we sat down to try this beer together and make sure it’s ready for release. It certainly is. Vanilla wafer and bourbon combine with aromas of rich tobacco reminiscent of entering a well kept humidor. Finally, almond, roasted cocoa beans, and subtle Maraschino cherry come together providing a most enjoyable experience.
