Connor Young is a Vermont-born trumpeter, composer, songwriter, and educator who studied Jazz Performance at McGill University and has been an active performer across genres since graduating in 2018. He has released two albums—Flight of the Starlings, a contemporary jazz record praised for its thoughtful arrangements, and From Me to You, a self-recorded, folk-inspired album described by Seven Days as “a masterful mélange of late-night musings and early-morning affirmations.” A fixture in Burlington’s jazz scene, he plays weekly at The 126 and helps run its jam sessions, while also teaching and recently earning a Creation Grant from the Vermont Arts Council to record a new album with his octet.
