A Burlington Discover Jazz Festival Waterfront Afterparty
[Freeway Clyde]
Michael Chorney’s Freeway Clyde project focuses on yet another creative avenue: instrumental psych-rock film scores for non-existent movies. Chorney is a self-taught composer, guitarist, saxophonist, producer, sideman, and bandleader. He has lived and worked in Vermont for more than thirty years. His solo work and output with groups such as Hollar General, viperHouse, the MC6, and Orchid reflect the many different aspects of his writing. As an arranger, he worked most prominently on Hadestown, in collaboration with Anais Mitchell, with whom he has done many tours. As a producer, he has worked with Anais, David Moss, Iain Morrison, Adrian Roye, Round Mountain, Seth Eames, the Dupont Brothers, Maryse Smith, and many others. In 2019, he and collaborator Todd Sickafoose were awarded a Tony for best orchestrations.
[The Discussions]
The Discussions are the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and composer, Greg Rothwell. Based in Burlington VT, the instrumental group meld styles of psych, latin jazz, pop, classical, progressive, and ambient. Their music is intended to paint scenes and tell stories as it sways between sounding very simple to borderline chaotic.
[Heavy Light]
Graeme Walford uses analog techniques mixed with modern technology for live music. Heavy Light will be projecting psychedelic visuals on stage while the bands are playing to create a truly unique experience.
We will keep you up to date on upcoming shows and other events at the brewery.
